Off the Critical Path is written by Megan Bonifacino, consultant, founder of OTCP, and Mentorship Program Director for PMI San Diego's Coaching Pods program. With 15+ years in program management across Kenvue/Johnson & Johnson Consumer and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, a PMP, an MBA, and a Certified Master Mentor credential, Megan works across three ways of building mentorship that lasts: designing programs, training the people inside them, and mentoring directly, one on one.

Why "off the critical path"
In project management, the critical path is the sequence of tasks that directly determines your finish date. Everything off the critical path still matters. It has slack today, but it can become critical the moment something shifts.

That's where mentorship usually lives inside organizations: important, rarely urgent, easy to deprioritize until the day it isn't. This site, and this work, treats it like what it actually is: a workstream that deserves the same intentional design as anything on the critical path.
