About this site
Off the Critical Path is written by Megan Bonifacino — consultant, founder of OTCP, and Mentorship Program Director for PMI San Diego's Coaching Pods program. With 15+ years in program management across Kenvue/Johnson & Johnson Consumer and the Naval Surface Warfare Center, a PMP, an MBA, and a Certified Master Mentor credential, Megan writes about the part of mentorship most programs get wrong: the structure.
Why "off the critical path"
Mentorship used to happen by accident, through hallway conversations, shared desks, and people who just happened to be around. Those conditions have mostly disappeared. This site is about what replaces them: intentional, outcome-based mentorship design.
What you'll find here
Essays on mentorship program design, honest reflections from running mentorship programs in practice, and the occasional hard-won lesson from being on both sides of the mentoring relationship.
